A 30-day practice guide for the reasoning your cognitive score actually measures
You just got a number. Here's what to do with it.
The K3N8H Cognitive Puzzle Assessment scores four kinds of reasoning: number sequences, repeating/growing patterns, matrix logic, and symbolic analogies. None of them care what you know β they care whether you can find the rule. That's a trainable skill, not a fixed trait, and this guide is a real 30-day practice plan for getting measurably better at it.
Why these four types, specifically
Fluid reasoning β the ability to spot a pattern you've never seen before and apply it β shows up in exactly these shapes, over and over, in real IQ-test traditions (Raven's Matrices, Cattell's culture-fair tests) precisely because they strip out vocabulary and trivia. You can't study your way to a pattern; you can only get faster and more reliable at finding one. That reliability is what this guide trains.
Week 1: Number sequences
The skill: identifying whether a sequence is additive (arithmetic β same gap every step) or multiplicative (geometric β same ratio every step), and doing the arithmetic fast enough that it stops being the bottleneck.
Daily drill (10 minutes):
- Write five random numbers 1-20.
- Build an arithmetic sequence from each (pick a step of 2-9).
- Cover the last number, time yourself finding it.
- Repeat with geometric sequences (ratio 2 or 3).
What "better" looks like by day 7: you check "is the gap constant?" automatically, in under 2 seconds, before trying anything else. Most people default to guessing; the fix is a fixed first move (check the differences between consecutive terms) every single time.
Week 2: Repeating and growing patterns
The skill: finding the period of a repeating cycle, or recognizing a growth pattern (each step adds one more than the shape count), from a short visible run.
Daily drill (10 minutes):
- Pick 2-4 symbols (letters, shapes, anything).
- Write a repeating sequence at least 2.5 cycles long.
- Predict the next 3 terms, not just 1 β this forces you to actually find the period instead of pattern-matching the very next symbol by luck.
- Do the same with a growing sequence (β, ββ, βββ, ...) and predict the count, not just "more of the same shape."
Common trap: stopping at "it looks like it repeats" without confirming the period length against at least two full cycles. A period-3 pattern can look like period-2 for the first four symbols by coincidence.
Week 3: Matrix logic (Latin squares)
The skill: in a grid where each row and column contains every symbol exactly once, filling in the missing cell by checking both its row and its column, not just one.
Daily drill (10 minutes):
- Draw a 3x3 grid, pick 3 symbols, fill it in as a valid Latin square (each symbol once per row, once per column).
- Erase one cell β not always the corner β and time yourself solving it from the row/column constraint.
- Increase to a 4x4 grid with 4 symbols once this feels fast.
What "better" looks like: you stop scanning the whole grid randomly and instead ask two specific questions β "what's missing from this row?" and "what's missing from this column?" β then take the answer that's true for both.
Week 4: Symbolic analogies
The skill: finding the operation that turns A into B, then applying that same operation to C β the error almost everyone makes is applying a different but related operation instead of the actual one.
Daily drill (10 minutes):
- Pick a number 2-12 and an operation (double, halve, add 10, square).
- Write "A is to B as C is to ?" using that operation.
- Before answering, say the operation out loud in words ("this doubles"), then apply it to C.
- Swap roles with a friend or just check your own answer against the rule you stated.
Why saying it out loud works: it forces you to commit to one specific rule instead of vaguely recognizing "these numbers seem related," which is where most wrong answers come from.
Retesting
Take the assessment again after 30 days. You're not trying to "beat" a fixed number β the puzzles are freshly generated every time, so there's nothing to memorize. What should move is your speed and your first-instinct accuracy on all four types, because that's exactly what four weeks of deliberate practice on each type is built to improve.
What this is not
This is a reasoning-practice guide, not a claim that daily puzzles raise a clinical IQ score β no informal practice program does that, and anyone telling you otherwise is overselling. What it will genuinely do is make you faster and more reliable at exactly the four pattern types the assessment (and a lot of real-world "figure out the rule" situations) actually test.
