A practice shell with a virtual file system kept in this browser and about thirty commands: ls, cd, pwd, cat, echo, mkdir, rm, cp, mv, touch, head, tail, wc, sort, uniq, grep, tr, base64, xxd, sha256sum, history, clear, man, help, env, export and edit (a simple file editor), plus > and >> to write output to a file. node FILE.js runs JavaScript in the Code Lab sandbox worker (console.log, process.stdout.write and reading input with require('fs').readFileSync(0), stopped after 3 seconds; no other Node modules). python FILE.py runs the beginner subset of Python that the Code Lab interpreter supports (variables, conditions, loops, functions, lists, dictionaries, text and input); anything outside it, such as classes or other imports, is refused with the line and the reason. Sample programs are in ~/programs and practice puzzles in ~/puzzles. It runs on your device; no network, no upload, no account.
